Since the official opening in 1878, Oakfield Public Library has been located in the heart of downtown Oakfield. The library strives to enrich lives by connecting community, information and ideas, to promote literacy, lifelong learning and exploration.

If you are looking for the newest of the new at the library, the front display shelf is always a good bet. New picture books for children are always displayed on top of the bookshelves. New movies are marked, and a list of movies ordered is always available for you to place holds even before they arrive. If you have a suggestion for materials you think we should purchase, please feel free to share them with us.

The library participates in a rotation of large print and audiobooks through our library system. Collections change monthly, so there are always new things to choose from.

Our eBook collection continues to grow, and if you haven’t looked at the available titles yet, we encourage you to do so. The newest most popular books, available for free download with a library card. Just download the Libby app and get started. Whether you need a cookbook, streaming video or a magazine to unwind with, you’ll find it on our digital shelves. Hoopla and Kanopy, our digital streaming services are available free to cardholders. Movies, television, and even more choices are available.

Laid up for a while? Having trouble getting around? Call us at 583-4552, and we will deliver library materials right to your front door! This home delivery service is intended for those who are home bound, or those who have temporary injuries that make it hard to get to the library. It is offered for residents of the village or town of Oakfield.
