February is the month for love! Library Lovers' Month is a month-long celebration of school, public, and private libraries. As one of our favorite months, this is a great time to recognize the value of libraries and how they serve the community in learning and discovery. There are so many types of love we can celebrate. Like the love we share for friends, family members, a certain book series (wink, wink), favorite pen, favorite side of the bed—the list can go on! However, this month we are especially excited to celebrate our love for the library!
To kick start the love, we invite you explore new authors & genres by checking out a Blind Date Book which is concealed in wrapping. Go on a blind date with a book and perhaps it will be love at first sight! If you don’t enjoy it, there are no hurt feelings. Just dump it (in the library book drop!)
After patrons are done reading the book, they will fill out a “rate your date” card located inside the book. Place the completed card inside the book when you return it in our book drop. Everyone who rates their book will be entered into a drawing at the end of the month.
Our "Hearts for Heroes" is a great way for everyone to recognize all those who continue to provide needed service, regardless of the current situation. Mail carriers, medical workers, fire & police to name only a few. Pick up a heart in the front entryway, decorate using whatever you wish and return to the library. They will be distributed at the end of February.
