Due to the current COVID-19 situation, there will be no in-person programs at the library this summer. Our online calendar will be updated with events and activities as we draw closer to re-opening.
We all know the benefits of summer reading are clear. Children who read over the summer are better prepared to start the next school year, so it’s important to avoid the “summer slide” and keep your child’s mind active and engaged by reading.
Reading also allows teens and young adults to continue exploring, learning and growing, providing them essential skills to prepare them for their exciting futures in high school, college and beyond. Adults can benefit from reading by increasing their memory and comprehension skills.
There will be no traditional "summer reading programs" this year, none of the usual activities, performers and events at the library. We encourage all ages to participate in our reading BINGO. Read at your own pace, for your enjoyment, and earn tickets for prize drawings at the end of the summer. Print off a card below, or you can find one in the lobby entrance to the village office. All ages can participate.
Mark off squares as you complete each book challenge. For children, feel free to substitute activities when appropriate.
- Only one card per person.
- Book titles may only be used once per card.
Complete a row of reading, or related activities and earn tickets that can be entered into prize drawings. Kids can enter their tickets to win tumblers filled with prizes. Adults and teens can choose from large gift baskets filled with a variety of items. Pictures of the prizes will be posted the week of June 8th. If you complete the entire card you earn five entries. When you get a BINGO, call the library & leave message to let us know or email email@example.com
We will keep track of entries until library re-opens.
